AKSAI, Western Kazakhstan Oblast, 28 April 2004 Five national employees of Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO) have received certificates in recognition of their individual contribution of the KPO Business Improvement Planning (BIP).

The nominated ideas included the optimisation of financial reporting suggested by Laura Samatova, the modernisation of document distribution system introduced by Assan Apushev, the improvement of transport department’s work done by Tulegen Karimov, the review of environmental regulatory data base by Serik Kadraliyev and a number of technical solutions to repair a water pipeline suggested by Karlygash Tukupova.

KPO General Director Paolo Campelli and Operations Director Cameron Crawford thanked the employees for their efforts to improve the KPO business performance and presented them with a Certificate of Achievement.

Paolo Campelli said: "KPO has introduced the BIP concept as a way of encouraging better performance through cost savings, improved procedures and more effective interdepartmental communications.”

“Everyone that works for KPO andwho has an idea for improvement can contribute to the process. The ideas that KPO needs are not only concerned with cost savings and can also include improvements to systems and procedures”, added Robert Schleicher, KPO Business Performance Manager.

To mark this important achievement all five BIP Certificate recipients have also received complimentary invitations to one of Aksai’s prestige restaurants.
