AKSAI, West Kazakhstan Oblast, July 5th 2016 - “Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V.” has announced about the successful commissioning of a new preschool institution designed for 140 children which was constructed in the village of Burlin in Burlin District within the framework of KPO’s social projects implementation.
KPO investments in this social project totaled 412.8 million tenge. “Naz Tur” LLP was the general contractor for the project.
The opening ceremony was attended by the Authorities of the West Kazakhstan Oblast, members of the Senate and the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Birganym Aitimova and Bakhtiyar Maken, representatives of the district department of education, KPO top leadership and contractors.
According to Akim of WKO, Altai Kulginov, “Construction of preschool institutions is one of the focus areas of the state social policy aimed at improving the social welfare of Kazakhstan citizens.”
“Today, on the eve of the Capital Day, in the village of Burlin with population of about 4,000 people, a new kindergarten designed for 140 children opens its doors. Implementation of this project has completely resolved the issue of engagement of all children in the preschool education.”
“It is a great joy especially for parents who can with no worries entrust their children to teachers’ care in this fully equipped "turn-key" kindergarten", added Altai Kulginov.
The total area of the two-storey kindergarten is 6,773 square meters. The learning unit includes 7 playgrounds, playroom equipment, area for physical training and garden plots. The general landscaping of the adjacent territory was also performed as part of the detailed design of the project.
On the ground floor there are 2 nursery and 2 kindergarten groups, medical facilities, staff room, laundry room and a kitchen. On the first floor there are 3 kindergarten groups, general purpose halls for music and gymnastic sessions, the psychologist's office and hobby rooms.
KPO Vice General Director, Marat Karimov noted, "We are very pleased that the local children will receive high-quality pre-school education in this state-of-art education unit, the construction of which was agreed with the Akimats of WKO and Burlin district."
"Based on the principles of corporate responsibility and sustainable development, as of today the total KPO investment in the development of social infrastructure in the Region has exceeded 300 mln. dollars. Thus, KPO applies utmost efforts towards sharing the benefits of the field development with the local communities and the Republic of Kazakhstan as a whole", added Marat Karimov.
KPO implements a great number of major projects aimed at development of social infrastructure in the West Kazakhstan Region. The amount of 20 million dollars is allocated annually for social projects implementation. The list and priority of the projects are determined by the WKO Authorities. A few years ago, at the Republican contest on business social responsibility "Paryz", KPO received a well-deserved gold award in the "Best Social Project" category.
