KPO receives KAZENERGY medal for contribution into development of mutually beneficial cooperation

AKSAI, Western Kazakhstan Oblast, 20 June 2014 - Within the framework of the XXI World’s Petroleum Congress that was held from 15-19 June 2014 in Moscow, Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO) received a medal from KAZENERGY Association for contribution into development of mutually beneficial cooperation.

The award was presented to KPO General Director Damiano Ratti by the RoK Minister of Oil and Gas Uzakbay Karabalin who praised KPO for its constant support and commitment towards the interests of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

“We have been enjoying an excellent partnership and mutual trust and cooperation in our work with the Republic of Kazakhstan”, said Damiano Ratti receiving the prestigious award.

As part of the event, KPO General Director has also made a presentation during a separate ministerial session entitled “The perspectives for RoK oil and gas industry development”, which involved the participation of the RoK Oil and Gas Minister Uzakbay Karabalin as well as senior leadership from Kazakh and international oil and gas companies, industry experts, representatives of international organisations and media.

Commenting on topics that were discussed, Damiano Ratti said: “The new set of incentives announced today aimed at enhancing the attraction of investments into RoK economy could be considered unprecedented.  These measures will hopefully strengthen Kazakhstan’s already good position in the categories of ‘investment climate’ and ‘ease of conducting business’”.

Overall, the XXI World’s Petroleum Congress gathered around 5000 delegates from over 80 countries.  The RoK oil and gas industry was represented by national company “KazMunaiGas”, JSC, KPO, TCO, NCOC, ExxonMobil, PetroKazakhstan and others.

As part of the Congress, KPO co-sponsored the 180 sq. m. RoK national stand at which company’s technology innovations achievements were presented.

The World’s Petroleum Congress is held once every three years under the aegis of the World’s Petroleum Council.  It is a key event of the oil and gas industry which attracts officials, top management of national and international companies, leading industry organisations, diplomatic services and representatives of analytical and research centres.
