KPO delegation visited North-Kazakhstan Oblast

Petropavlovsk, North Kazakhstan Oblast, 30 June, 2016 — Delegation of Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO) headed by KPO General Director, Renato Maroli, has visited Petropavlovsk. The visit was organized with support of the Akimat of West Kazakhstan Oblast within the framework of interregional interaction and collaboration.

During the visit, the meeting with Erik Sultanov, Akim of North Kazakhstan Oblast, took place in which the parties discussed the possibilities of participation of industrial North Kazakhstan companies in the development of the Karachaganak Oil and Gas Condensate Field.

In addition, KPO representatives also visited the production facilities of the largest machine-building enterprises in the Region, where they provided the information on the suppliers’ database registration procedure, prequalification and tender requirements of the Company.

Thus, during the inspection of the production capacities of Petropavlovsk Plant of Heavy Machinery Building JSC, the opportunities for the production of pressure vessels, heat exchangers and air coolers were shared with the delegation.


The KPO delegation was introduced with steel pipe production at Petropavlovsk Pipe Plant LLP and got acquainted with oil field equipment in the workshops of Munaimash JSC. According to representatives of the North Kazakhstan machine manufacturing enterprises, as for the technical characteristics, the products of these enterprises are as good as their world best analogues.

Also, there were meetings with the leaders of Kazneftegazmash JSC, Plant named after S.M.Kirov JSC, Plant of multi-field equipment LLP and Venture Company Poisk LLP.

During the concluding meeting with participation of Mukhtar Mankeev, Deputy Akim of North Kazakhstan Oblast, Renato Maroli, KPO General Director, said: “KPO actively supports the development of national companies and implements a number of initiatives that are aimed at fostering cooperation between international and local producers of goods and services, thus ensuring the mutual integration and transfer of advanced technologies into the industrial sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan. A visit to the North Kazakhstan Oblast and acquaintance with the regional manufacturers of equipment and materials for the oil and gas industry has considerably expanded our understanding of the industrial potential of the Region and the opportunities for cooperation within the upcoming projects on the of the Karachaganak expansion”.

KPO is one of the first companies in Kazakhstan, which has successfully implemented its local content programme. More than 3700 Kazakhstan vendors are currently registered in KPO supplier database. Since signing the FPSA in 1997, the total value of goods, works and services supplied by local companies has exceeded $5.5 billion. In 2015, the share of local content on Karachaganak reached 49%.
