KPO AND ESA HELD JOINT EXERCISE IN KARACHAGANAK, 28.06.2004

AKSAI, Western Kazakhstan Oblast, 28 June 2004Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO) and Emergency Situations Agency of WKO held a large-scale joint exercise in the Karachaganak Oil and Gas Field. 

 

The exercise has been called by the Akim of  WKO Nurgali Ashimov. The event demonstrated the readiness of emergency response services of the two organisations and their ability to interact with each other in any emergency.

 

The course of events was observed by representatives of WKO administration, KPO management, officials of Burlin district administration, Emergency Situations Agencies of WKO and Orenburg, representatives of State Fire Service “Ort Sondurushi” and journalists.

 

Upon the completion of the joint exercise, Mike Smith, KPO Field Loss Prevention Manager, said: “Success was achieved today by the professional manner in which the ESA and KPO emergency services carried out their duties. All services, including Fire and Rescue, Medical, Logistics and Communications worked together as a single force and demonstrated their skills in dealing with any emergency.

 

What we have shown today is that co-operation and team-work is the key to success”.
